Our farm, with a 600-year history, offers an incredible opportunity for those eager to become a farm trainee in Italy. We are dedicated to teaching young people the essential skills of responsible and sustainable farming. Operating traditionally and entirely organically, we raise cows for milk and Parmigiano Reggiano production, while also cultivating vineyards, fruits, and vegetables. With a commitment to sustainability, our goal is to make the farm the first fully carbon-free farm, using solar energy and biogas not only to power our buildings but also our tractors and farming equipment.
Farm Trainee in Italy: Tasks & Roles
As part of your experience, you will gain hands-on knowledge of farming and its essential tasks. The core of the work involves caring for our cows, including feeding and milking them daily. In addition, you will have the chance to work with our vineyards and contribute to the cultivation of fruits and vegetables. A unique aspect of the farm is our tradition of making fresh pasta, and you’ll have the opportunity to assist with this as well. Throughout your time here, we’ll offer guidance and support, sharing our expertise and resources to help you build the skills needed to run your own farm. This includes not only practical experience but also access to land and financial resources, helping you to become an independent and proficient farmer.
Farm Trainee in Italy: Living & Getting There
Guests typically enjoy a private bedroom but share communal meals and activities with the farm family, providing a strong sense of community. If you are arriving by train, we are happy to pick you up at the Reggio Emilia train station, which is well-connected by public transport. Reggio Emilia itself is a city rich in history and culture, located around 40 km south of Parma and 80 km west of Bologna. The nearest airport is Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ), which offers good connections to major European cities.

The farm’s remote yet welcoming location offers a unique opportunity to live and learn in a truly traditional and sustainable farming environment, all while immersing yourself in the local culture and history of the Emilia-Romagna region.
