Volunteering at a hostel in Mexico – requirements & tasks

About the location
Discover the stunning beaches of Puerto Escondido from Tower Bridge Hostel! We’re within easy walking distance of three beautiful beaches, each with its own unique charm.
Puerto Escondido, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, offers surfing for all levels, and a laid-back atmosphere. Swim and snorkel at Carrizalillo, surf the famous Zicatela waves, or relax at Bacocho and Manzanillo. See baby turtles hatch, explore coral reefs, and try bioluminescence tours. The town has a lively market, delicious Oaxacan food, and a vibrant nightlife. Day trips to lagoons, waterfalls, and coffee plantations are easy to arrange. Puerto Escondido is a great place to relax, have fun, and experience Mexican culture.
Responsibilities
Here are volunteer opportunities at our hostel:
- Reception:
- Manage check-ins/outs
- Handle bookings and inquiries
- Arrange tours and activities
- Provide local information
- Socialize with guests
- Cleaning/Gardening:
- Maintain hostel cleanliness
- Assist with gardening
- Bar Help:
- Bartend (experience preferred)
- Create a fun and welcoming bar atmosphere
You’ll work for about 24 hours per week. You’ll have at least two days off per week to explore the beautiful beaches, vibrant markets, and charming towns of Puerto Escondido!
Volunteering at a hostel in Mexico – what we offer
As a volunteer, you’ll receive free accommodation in our shared dorms and breakfast on the days you work. Plus, we offer snorkel rentals and a free daily shuttle service to make your beach experience even better.
