Volunteer in Russia as a Camp Leader
We are offering volunteers a perfect place to start a personal journey of discovering Russian culture and learning the Russian language. You will be a Camp Leader.
We (Kluken Educational Holidays) started in 1999 on the Zemland peninsula which is a picturesque place on the Baltic Sea coast. Our camp is based in a Prussian manor that was carefully renovated and updated. The building and grounds facilities include a stable, a farmyard, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and a field for outdoor activities. Our goal is to give kids a perfect holiday experience including fishing, mushroom gathering, berries hunting, horseback riding, milking goats, and outdoor camping. Also included is a two-hour language course per day.
Stay duration: Preferably 2 – 4 weeks

Volunteer in Russia as a Camp Leader – Help RequiredÂ
We are looking for cheerful, outgoing, and friendly volunteers willing to take on the role of camp leader.
- You will become part of the team, organizing and taking part in various events and parties.
- We welcome and encourage any initiatives related to sports, outdoor activities (e.g. cycling tours, sailing, fishing, etc.), creative ideas for our TV project, morning exercises, and cuisine menu.
- Language Skills: You need to speak conversational English. No need to speak Russian. Over the years, we had volunteers from Spain, Greece, Germany, England, Scotland, Australia & Slovenia. While most of them did not know Russian before their arrival, some were talking in Russian when leaving.
- We DO NOT expect you to do the cleaning, dishwashing, or cooking.
Volunteer in Russia as a Camp Leader – Hours & RosterÂ
- You will be on site in the camp with us. We estimate helping 40 hours a week. Sunday is free and we will be happy to show you around and give you advice for places to visit.
- Preferably 2 – 4 weeks.

Sleeping: You will sleep in a dorm room. The manor has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a sauna, a library, a dining room, and two halls.
Linen & Laundry: All linen and towels are supplied. Laundry facilities are included also.
Eating: Volunteers receive six meals per day including breakfast, an afternoon snack, lunch, and a five o’clock tea with biscuits, dinner, and an evening hot chocolate with biscuits. Staff and children eat together.
Transport: We can help each volunteer to arrange their trip, providing information on bus and train connections. Please keep in mind that you’ll need a visa.
The Kaliningrad region is home to 97% of world’s amber deposits, one can find pieces of amber strolling along the coastline. This small European region of Russia is home to 1 million people, most of whom are regular visitors to Gdansk, Berlin and other EU cities. Many of the population has never been to the Russian mainland as it’s almost twice as far (It’s under 900km to Berlin and over 1200km to Moscow).
Volunteer in Russia as a Camp Leader – Amenities & PreferencesÂ
- Accommodate up to 2 helpers at any one time.
- Based on our prior experience, we will give preference to volunteers under 25, however everyone, especially extremely outgoing persons are welcome to apply.
- No gender preference.
- We welcome and accommodate single travelers or two friends but we cannot accommodate couples or families as helpers.
- Smoking allowed only outside, while alcohol is forbidden (you can take on your day off).
- A very slow mobile internet, no Wi-Fi available.
