Working holidays in France – requirements & tasks
Hi, I’m Noel. I’ve lived in southwest France for 20 years and enjoy hosting people from all over the world through my work with Rotary. My house is on a ridge next to a forest, with great views of the Pyrenees.
I’m looking for someone (or a couple) to help me out for about 3.5 hours a day, 5 days a week. Tasks include general housework, cooking, gardening, driving me around, and some basic repairs.
Ideally, you’d be handy with trees and power tools. I especially need someone who is good with trees, as mine could use some care and attention. It would also be helpful if you know a bit of French or are willing to use Google Translate, as my French is limited.
I’m looking for a helper to stay for at least three weeks, but longer is welcome if we get along. You’ll need a driver’s license and ideally your own car, as public transport is limited here. No smokers or pets, please, but you must be okay with my cat.
My daughter Shannon, who lives in the UK, will handle applications and be here to welcome you and help you settle in. We have regular family visits, so there’s always someone around for a chat.
Working holidays in France – what I offer
You’ll have a private double bedroom with your own bathroom on the ground floor, offering lots of privacy. We provide all bedding and towels. You’ll also have direct access to the garden.
The house is comfortable and well-equipped with a large kitchen, bathrooms, central heating, WiFi, laundry facilities, a dishwasher, and a coffee machine. The gardens are extensive, spanning around 2 acres, and there’s a swimming pool for the summer months. Additionally, there’s a sunny terrace for outdoor meals.
