Volunteer on a Farm in Germany – Learn Permaculture & Grow

Volunteer at Our Organic Farm (Germany)

We warmly welcome motivated individuals who are eager to volunteer on a farm in Germany and immerse themselves in a hands-on, community-centred experience. Nestled between Heilbronn and the Weinsberger Valley, our organic farm offers the perfect opportunity to learn about permaculture, edible forest gardens, and sustainable living practices. Whether you’re drawn to working with fruit trees, tending to vegetables, or exploring the principles of biodiversity, our ever-evolving farm provides a meaningful space to grow, contribute, and connect.

Volunteer on a Farm in Germany: Tasks & Roles

Volunteers will have the chance to take part in a wide variety of meaningful tasks depending on the season and your own interests. You may find yourself sowing seeds, watering, planting, weeding, harvesting, or preserving the bounty from our shared garden. There’s also work to be done in the orchard and vineyards, as well as in grassland care, forestry, and arable farming. We sometimes press our own fruit juice by hand and occasionally take on exciting building projects such as constructing a small shelter for animals. Composting, mushroom growing, and creating Terra Preta soil are ongoing experiments, and creative individuals can bring their flair to social media, web design, murals, or land art. Every helping hand brings fresh energy and ideas to the farm.

Volunteer on a Farm in Germany: Living & Getting There

Our farm is based in Eberstadt-Klingenhof, just 15 minutes from Heilbronn, and easily reached by public transport. The bus stops right at our entrance. From Heilbronn’s main station, you can take the S4 to Weinsberg, followed by the 633 bus to Klingenhof. From there, it’s a short walk up the road to reach us. We provide comfortable accommodation in a shared apartment with three beds and a bathroom, or alternatively, you can stay in a caravan with views across the orchard. The kitchen and laundry facilities are located in the CSA community building. At 1 PM each day, we gather for a communal lunch featuring freshly prepared meals using ingredients from the garden.

Volunteer on a Farm in Germany: What Else

Life on the farm is peaceful but lively, with visits from friends and volunteers creating a warm and collaborative atmosphere. Our three farm cats keep the mice at bay, aided by a pair of nesting falcons. You’ll have plenty of time after your five hours of daily help to relax, pursue personal projects, or explore the surrounding countryside and vineyards. This is a space to share knowledge, learn from one another, and feel part of a community rooted in nature and sustainability. If you’re inspired—or would like to inspire others—we would love to hear from you.
