Work exchange in the UK – requirements & tasks

Dunbeacon Camping and Glamping is located on the Wild Atlantic Way, Mizen Peninsula, West Cork. It overlooks Dunmanus Bay and the Sheeps Head Peninsula. It’s in a quiet rural area just outside Durrus village, and a short drive from Ballydehob, Schull, and Bantry.

This site is perfect for families, couples, and travelers exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. It’s surrounded by trees, a stream with a waterfall, and has ocean views. There are Tipis, Bell Tents, Rooftop Safari Tents, Caravan/Camper Van Berths, and Camping Pitches.

We’re an easy-going family who love meeting people from all over the world. We have pet dogs who are part of our indoor/outdoor life. After living in different countries, we moved from the city to this peaceful part of Ireland.

We live in an old farmhouse that we’re fixing up, on a few acres of land with a stream, lots of trees, bushes, meadows, fields, beehives, and wildlife.

We’re in beautiful West Cork, on the Mizen Head Peninsula, surrounded by amazing beaches, hidden coves, and mountain trails with views of the Sheeps Head Peninsula.

We’re looking for a couple or two friends to help out at our campsite during the busy summer season (June-August). You’ll mainly be cleaning kitchens and toilets, changing beds in our Tipis, maintaining the grounds, and mowing the lawn. We also have opportunities for smaller projects like building and maintenance throughout the year, but summer is our priority.

You’ll work for about 25 hours per week.

If you enjoy outdoor work, have practical skills, and are looking for a longer-term stay, we’d love to hear from you!

Work exchange in the UK – what we offer

You’ll have your own space in a recently refurbished 3-room attic conversion next to our main house. It has new floors, insulation, paint, and furniture, plus great views of the Atlantic. You’ll also have access to the kitchen, laundry, and toilet downstairs.

We also provide a full board.

The best way to explore the area is by bike, and we provide bikes for you to use. Bantry and Ballydehob, both 15 km away, have public transport options like buses. There’s also a new Link bus service that connects the main places on the peninsulas, including Durrus, the closest village to us. We’re happy to give you lifts to Bantry or other nearby places sometimes too.
