Good to know
Summers in Quebec are typically warm and humid, with temperatures often reaching 20-45°C during the day. Be prepared to work outdoors in all kinds of weather, as we’re at the mercy of the elements! To minimize heat exposure, we start our days early, often beginning at dawn.
You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, with a focus on weeding and harvesting. This means lots of time standing or kneeling, so be prepared for physical work. Harvesting also includes sorting and cleaning the crops. Throughout the summer, we might have small construction projects, like building signs or fences. Weeding can be repetitive and may take several days to complete a field, often requiring kneeling for extended periods. We prioritize doing the job correctly, balancing speed and quality of work.
If you’re comfortable with it, we may also ask you to help out at the public market as a salesperson. There’s no fixed schedule; tasks are usually decided the night before, but priorities can change throughout the day. We generally aim for one or two days off each week..
