Volunteer work with dogs – requirements & tasks
The Bullpen is a Northeast Georgia sanctuary for large breed dogs and other at-risk companion animals. We combine community education, partnerships with other organizations, support for existing animal welfare programs, and our own rescue work to prevent unnecessary euthanasia and improve animal welfare.
This location offers both a small-town atmosphere and quick access to major cities. It’s situated in a close community near a major interstate, allowing easy travel to Atlanta and Augusta.
This position offers a flexible schedule with a minimum 6-month commitment (shorter terms negotiable). You must be able to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and comfortably handle large dogs (100+ lbs). Experience with dog care, especially giant breeds, will be appreciated.
Typical tasks
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of giant breed dogs! We’re seeking dedicated individuals to provide daily care for 35+ dogs in our rescue program. Responsibilities include feeding, medication, cleaning, bathing, and transporting dogs.
You will work for about 30 hours per week.
This role is ideal for someone comfortable working independently and who enjoys a rural setting.
