Volunteer teaching English – requirements & tasks
VCV empowers Vietnamese students with essential English skills through immersive education and cultural exchange. Since 2015, our Hanoi-based social enterprise, powered by passionate volunteers, has impacted thousands of learners across Vietnam. Join us in building a brighter future through education.
We believe that everyone deserves access to quality English education. We break down barriers by providing affordable and inclusive programs in Vietnam, with a focus on empowering young women to achieve their full potential.
At VCV, you’ll find a diverse and welcoming community of learners. Our students include young women seeking to build their confidence and skills, professionals aiming to excel in their careers, and individuals from all backgrounds who share a passion for English and personal growth.
Tasks & roles
Experience the Vietnamese culture and make a lasting impact as a volunteer with VCV! We offer a variety of rewarding opportunities throughout the year:
- September to May: Assist visually impaired students at Vietnam National University with their English listening and speaking skills (small groups of 4-8 students).
- Starting September/October: Facilitate English practice for Vietnamese university students through interactive sessions and workshops (year-round).
- Year-round: Engage in playtime and provide basic English assistance to orphaned children aged 3-5 at a local pagoda. Teach English in our non-profit community classrooms and partner organizations for both children (from 6 years old) and adults (small fee applies to cover expenses and volunteer accommodation). Teach English at VCV partner schools to fund our social activities and charity projects (gain valuable teaching experience). Teach online charity classes across Vietnam (classes range from 4 to 15 students; opportunities to meet students in person). Assist students in practicing English through social activities in Hanoi.
You will work for about 20 hours per week with weekends off. We welcome solo teachers, couples and families.
