Located on a secluded and small island just a 5-minute walk through a waist-deep water from Karimunjawa National Park, Menjangan Resort offers simple and cosy beachfront accommodation for your internship in Indonesia.
It takes a 30-minute boat ride from the property to Karimunjawa Harbour, and another 2.5-hour express boat to Jepara Harbour. Getting to Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang from Jepara Harbour will take around 3 hours by car.
Each room at Menjangan Resort is fan-cooled and fitted with a seating area, a desk, canopied bed, and an en suite bathroom with shower facility and free toiletries. There is also a terrace where guests can enjoy view of the beach.
Karimun Java is an Indonesian archipelago in the Java Sea, It’s known for Karimun Java National Park, a marine conservation area with mangrove forests, beaches, and coral reefs. Sea turtles inhabit the waters around the islands, while deer and pangolins can be seen on land.
We need someone for an internship in Indonesia who cares about the environment. Our Target: Reduce garbage in the ocean, garbage on the island, garbage on the beach, among corals, and fish.
Internship in Indonesia – Stay overview
Tasks & Roles
- Cleaning our island and beach
- Making an environmental program for our island
- Making a recycling program and tools for garbage management on the island
- Prepare environmental movies before arriving on our island and play them to guests and staff
Requirements:
- Be ready to work 5 hours 5 days per week. Days off: Monday & Tuesday
- Make sure you can swim
- Stay here for 2 weeks minimum
Internship in Indonesia – Additional Information
- This is a separate island
- We hope to have 4 volunteers on the island
- On our island, we only have 1 hostel, so at night it will be very quiet
- Electricity is only on from 6 PM – 6 AM but if no customers on our island, electricity only on at 6 PM – 8 or 9 PM
- We have a dog, please care for our dog
- We don’t have WiFi so you should buy a local sim card to have the internet on our island. Usually, use Telkomsel, but you have to go to the beach to get a good signal.
- Own travel insurance is recommended.
