My farm is home to a variety of animals, many of which were rescued, while others were bought or born here. All our animals live here for their whole lives and love interacting with visitors. They’re super friendly and enjoy getting attention. They do not enter the food chain. I also have two friendly Dalmatian farm dogs – a mother and her daughter.
The day typically starts at 8.30 AM. We feed the animals before we open to the public at 10 AM. I also need assistance with mucking out pens and farm maintenance like painting fencing, weeding and cutting grass in summer. We keep the place tidy for visitors.
You will work for 25 hours a week which is 5 hours a day 5 days a week.
As a hardworking single woman, I greatly appreciate any assistance provided. I lead a drama-free and laid-back lifestyle, although I do have a few rules. Smoking, drug use, and excessive drinking are not permitted on the premises.
Volunteer as a couple on the farm in Scotland – what I offer
I provide volunteers with their own caravan which is connected to electricity and water. It has WiFi, bathroom and a kitchen. The caravan is warm, dry and fully kitted out with everything you need. It has a toilet cassette that has to be emptied every 5 days or so but is very easy to do. The washing machine is in the house. I also offer a full board.
