If you’re keen on riding horses daily and learning everything about them that piques your interest, this is the perfect place for you. Check it out!
Develop your skills & volunteer with horses – requirements & tasks
Availability: May to October. Horse experience is not necessary. Are you interested in learning and working with horses? We’re seeking individuals who can communicate clearly, exhibit mature behavior, are physically fit and energetic, and can follow verbal instructions both within a team or independently.
We prefer non-drinkers and non-smokers who are open to exploring a vegetarian diet with some meats available.
Every day offers horseback riding opportunities and chances to develop skills in riding, training, round pen work, horse packing and camping, harness and cart training, shoeing and trimming, saddle repair, leathercraft, and working with power tools.
Most volunteers commit for a minimum of two weeks or longer. Skilled individuals who quickly adapt and commit to staying longer may be eligible for an honorarium or wages. Our operations are at okanaganstables.com near Kelowna, BC, Canada.
You will work for about 20 hours per week.
Develop your skills & volunteer with horses – what we offer
Everyone will have their private space – whether it’s a tent, mini-van, or RV (caravan), provided on a first-come, first-served basis. We provide food, a mattress, clean bedding, and access to a common kitchen and social space.
We’re just minutes away from town and beaches. For experienced, responsible drivers, we also have bikes and a vehicle available.
The weather in the Okanagan Desert is typically very pleasant!
