Help with gardening during your work exchange in Australia

We’re looking for someone to lend a hand with gardening, clearing, and cleaning on our 15-acre property during the weekdays. No weekend work required! Join us and enjoy life in Australia!

Opportunity for work exchange in Australia – requirements & tasks

Come join us in the scenic Sunshine Coast hinterlands, just 50 minutes from Brisbane. We’re looking for help with gardening, clearing, and room cleaning on our 15-acre property. Weekends are free from work.

Our property, which can accommodate up to 12 guests, is often reserved for weekend events, leaving weekdays available for individual stays.

Each day starts with 2 hours of clearing a section of the property, which includes burning old trees. Afterward, we enjoy morning tea. Then, we spend 2 hours tending to the vegetable garden—clearing, planting, harvesting, and watering. Lunch follows.

When new guests are arriving, we spend 3 hours preparing the house. This includes changing beds, cleaning, mopping, and some laundry. This task is dependent on our booking schedule and isn’t required daily.

On days without guest preparation, we focus on general maintenance tasks. These tasks include clearing roads, roofs, and tracks of debris and creating new spaces on the property to enhance the tranquility for our guests. We encourage creativity, and you’re welcome to leave your personal touch during your stay.

If you love being outdoors and enjoy gardening, this opportunity is perfect for you. We need a proactive and self-motivated helper, as there will be times when you’ll work independently.

You will work for about 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with availability required for 6 to 7 hours per day.

Opportunity for work exchange in Australia – what we offer

We provide you with pre-made meals to heat up at your convenience. You’ll be responsible for your own dishwashing and cleaning up after meals. Sunday nights are reserved for a family roast dinner where everyone dines together. Please let us know about any dietary needs in advance, so we can determine if we can accommodate them with our provided meals.

The caretaker, who is the owner’s father, resides on the property and is easy-going.

Your accommodation includes a separate three-bedroom house, with one room currently occupied by the caretaker. Two rooms are available with a shared bathroom. Each room has a double bed. Additionally, there’s a studio with another bedroom and bathroom, just a short 300-meter walk away, offering more privacy for couples. Fast WiFi is also provided.
