Volunteer in Chile – requirements & tasks
Our family welcomes you to our home where we value harmony and kindness. Our property is located in a unique area with both countryside and beach access, surrounded by natural beauty. The area is home to diverse plant life like pine trees, eucalyptus, and boldo, along with animals such as wild horses, rabbits, and foxes.
Our home offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Every New Year’s Eve, we have a front-row seat to South America’s largest fireworks show along the Valparaíso coastline from our terrace.
We are conveniently located 1 hour and 35 minutes from Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. Valparaíso, the regional capital, is only 30 minutes away, and Viña del Mar, home to the famous Song Festival each February, is 45 minutes away.
Our village, Laguna Verde, is part of the Curaumilla estate.
We need volunteers to help with our community garden, assist an elderly person one day a week, and finish a 28 m² cabin (interior lining and other tasks).
You’ll work for about 30 hours per week.
Free time activities
When you’re not volunteering, there’s plenty to explore! Discover the natural beauty around Laguna Verde with hikes through the diverse landscape. Visit the local reservoir for a peaceful afternoon, or gather with friends for a barbecue.
For a change of pace, venture into the nearby cities. Valparaíso, with its captivating hills and vibrant culture, is a must-see. Explore the historic quarter, ride the charming funiculars, and maybe even take a boat tour of the harbor.
In Viña del Mar, you can stroll through the beautiful gardens, visit the iconic flower clock, and browse the bustling central market and fishing terminal. And of course, no trip to Viña del Mar is complete without relaxing on the sandy shores of Reñaca or Caleta Abarca beach.
Volunteer in Chile – what we offer
We offer a comfortable private cabin with its own bathroom, separate from the main house. You’re welcome to join us for breakfast and dinner each day in our family dining room. We’re a small, friendly household eager to make you feel at home.
