Located just 130 kilometers south of Bogotá, Arcapacha sits in the heart of the Tolima region. Immerse yourself in the region’s rich biodiversity, where the tropical climate is perfect for cultivating delicious cocoa. Come collaborate, give back, and discover the magic of Arcapacha.
We’re seeking volunteers interested in cocoa cultivation and production, as well as those willing to assist with various tasks on the farm, including painting, decorating, construction, maintenance, and cleaning the common areas of Arcapacha.
The day begins with a hearty breakfast at 8 am, followed by a refreshing walk to the cacao fields. The trees, nestled amidst lush greenery and meandering rivers, create a picturesque backdrop for our work. With an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, the climate is ideal for cocoa cultivation.
Depending on the time of year, our daily tasks vary from harvesting ripe cacao pods to pruning trees and maintaining seedbeds. Volunteers have the unique opportunity to learn every aspect of cacao cultivation, from planting to processing.
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the cacao groves. We also maintain our facilities, including carpentry, construction, painting, and gardening projects. Volunteers can contribute their skills and talents to these projects, ensuring that Arcapacha remains a thriving eco-community.

We have a room with a bunk bed and single rooms.
We provide volunteers with a full board. The breakfast is at 8:30, we go out to work in the field for 4 or 5 hours, depending on the type of work. The afternoons are free, as well as Sundays.
Before breakfast, there is the possibility to practice yoga in the studio. The place is ideal for meditating, writing, or making music. Meals at Arcapacha are very important; we take the time to cook our food.
You can also unwind in our chlorine-free river water pool, admire the beautiful landscapes, and stay connected with Wi-Fi.
