Work as a summer camp volunteer – requirements & tasks
Our home, a former German Villa built in 1896, has quite a story to tell. It was once a school for Czech children, then a guesthouse for soldiers and ministers. The surrounding village, once a bustling German community, now has only five houses left.
Our tranquil mountain retreat is nestled 900 meters above sea level in the beautiful Krušné Hory. While it’s perfect for exploring the surrounding cross-country skiing and biking trails, please note there’s no public transportation available. The nearest train station, Nove Hamry, is a scenic 7 km journey away. Just give us a heads-up 1-2 days before, and we’ll happily fetch you from the station.
Our house has 10 rooms and 3 spacious halls for hosting guests, along with a farmstead where we raise alpacas and horses. We’re currently transforming old containers into new stables, complete with a charming wooden roof. If you’re up for some woodworking with Anbu, we’d love your help!
During the summer, we also run kids’ camps for 30 children and teenagers (ages 9-18) where any help is welcome. We just want our volunteers to have fun while they lend a hand.
You’ll work for about 25 hours per week.
Work as a summer camp volunteer – what we offer
You’ll have your own private double room and all meals included. We mostly cook vegetarian dishes, with meat options once or twice a week. Our food is mainly Indian-inspired, but don’t worry, we don’t go overboard with the spice!
