We’re an outdoor couple based by the beautiful Kent Coast. We seek help on our allotment, with fruit cages, fencing, and raised beds. Join us!
Help with general maintenance & volunteer outdoors – requirements & tasks
We reside beside the Kent Coast, right next to the beach. This year, our expansive allotment and garden could use a few extra helping hands. We’re in search of someone comfortable working outdoors, either on the allotment, in the garden, or around the house alongside us.
Typical tasks include digging, preparing the plot, and using machinery such as strimmers, mowers, and rotavators. Additionally, help is needed in making raised beds and managing weeding. On top of that, there’s some general maintenance work at home, including painting the fencing, tending to low-level fascia boards, and cleaning the driveway.
If you enjoy preserving, pickling, or making jam, you’re in for a treat. We frequently engage in these activities. Having hosted students and lodgers, we are accustomed to welcoming people into our home. Both of us are skilled cooks, and a significant portion of our produce is homegrown.
This opportunity would be well-suited for a quiet, non-smoking couple or a single person who appreciates cats and the outdoor lifestyle.
Ideally, we’d like you to dedicate five hours a day, starting in the morning (sometimes quite early, especially if it’s hot). Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore the area or join us in various activities. We’re looking for assistance five days a week, but we can be flexible if you plan to take some time off to explore other areas.
