Help with outside jobs & childcare while volunteering in England – requirements & tasks
We have recently moved to a beautiful little cottage in a lovely village just next to the historic town of Woodbridge.
Our cottage is set on two acres of land and it also has a shepherd’s hut fully kitted out for guests. We enjoy participating in the tasks involved in looking after our land, but it is a lot to keep up with alongside our jobs and taking care of our children.
We’d love an individual or couple who enjoy working outside and working with nature, to come along and help us look after our little plot and occasionally help with taking care of our children.
Projects include helping with the veg garden (you can grow your own too!), fencing, hedge maintenance, feeding our chickens, mowing the lawn, and weeding.
We would also really like someone/a couple who like children, and would be happy to spend an evening in our home on the rare occasion we go out, or possibly take care of them for short periods of time in the afternoon if we are working. It’s important to us that our helper enjoys the company of children and is happy to be involved in family life.
We expect the work we’d need help with might be up to 12-15 hours a week and we’d be happy for you to manage your time independently. We are open to some meal sharing and also fully respect your privacy and wish for independence.

We provide volunteers with a double private room in the shepherd’s hut which is decked out to a high standard and was on Airbnb for a long while getting 5-star reviews. It has a lovely log burner and a fully operational kitchen with a fridge. We provide bed linen and access to laundry facilities.
