We’re a small, dedicated team making a big difference, but we need your help to continue our important work. Join us in a variety of activities that directly impact the lives of children and our community.

Next Smile Kindergarten, founded on October 2nd, 2021, is a cozy and nurturing learning environment for 30 young children aged 3-6. Our primary focus is providing quality education and fostering early childhood development in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Opportunities:

  • Teach: Share your knowledge in English, science, or math with children ages 3-6, collaborating with local teachers.
  • Empower: Build children’s confidence and fluency in English through language activities.
  • Play & Learn: Construct simple playground equipment and organize fun, educational sports and games.
  • Support Teachers: Lead workshops, create teaching materials, and offer practical lessons to local educators.
  • Tech Integration: Introduce instructional technology to enhance early childhood education.
  • Skill Enhancement: Provide training to improve local teachers’ teaching techniques and effectiveness.
  • Sustainable Living: Get your hands dirty with gardening, farming, and permaculture projects.
  • Animal Care: Assist with chicken keeping.
  • Kitchen Support: Lend a hand to our cook.
  • And More! There are always additional opportunities to get involved and make an impact.

Project Goals:

  • Empower Children: Create accessible learning opportunities for all children.
  • Enhanced Education: Provide improved facilities, supportive environments, and free education to disadvantaged children in Mwanza and surrounding areas.
  • Reduce Dropouts: Actively work to lower the school dropout rate in the region.

This project will directly and positively impact the lives of numerous children from vulnerable families in Mwanza and its neighboring communities.

you’re skilled or unskilled, we encourage you to join our limitless volunteer program.

Joining our project is completely free. However, if you’d like to make an even bigger impact, consider bringing any of the following:

  • Used laptops/computers
  • Other teaching and learning materials

Volunteer Schedule:

Volunteers will contribute 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, following this schedule:

  • 9:00 am – 10:00 am: Work in your chosen area of expertise.
  • 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Continue work in your field.
  • 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch break.
  • 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Resume work in your area of focus.
  • 4:00 pm Onward: Personal time (may include home visits to students’ families)

This schedule applies to all volunteers, whether involved in teaching or other activities.

All skills & backgrounds are welcome. We believe everyone has something valuable to offer. Whether

You will work for about 20 hours per week.

Volunteer in Tanzania & teach kids – what we offer

We have space for up to 3 volunteers at once, and each volunteer can stay for a maximum of 3 months. You will enjoy free daily local meals and private rooms for your comfort.

Weekends are free for you to explore. We’d love to show you around local attractions like Saanane Island National Park, Bismarck Rock, the Sukuma Museum, or even the Serengeti if you’re up for an adventure. You can also enjoy more relaxed activities like fishing, swimming, or hiking.
