Help build a sustainable village as a volunteer in Sweden – requirements & tasks
We represent a sustainability project dedicated to Europe’s northernmost pilgrim trail. Our mission involves establishing a pilgrim village capable of accommodating up to 20 pilgrims for overnight stays and communal meal preparation.
Once completed, the village will boast six cottages, a few of which we aim to build annually. Among these cottages, one will be exclusively designated for volunteers. Additionally, we’ll cultivate a vegetable garden and greenhouse, tasks for which we seek assistance.
Tasks will encompass setting up the village, collaborating with local carpenters to construct cottages using locally sourced wood, and creating an edible landscape surrounding the village. Volunteers are encouraged to organize skill-sharing activities like art, music, and more. Moreover, maintaining the trails, potentially with the help of local and pilgrim volunteers, might be part of the tasks at the Pilgrim Village.
Our project is in its initial stages, set to commence in the spring/summer of 2024. The trail typically sees around 1,000 walkers during the season, a number that’s steadily increasing.
You will work for about 20 hours per week.

You’ll be accommodated in a newly constructed cottage equipped with solar panels for power. You’ll share the space with one or two other volunteers. Shower facilities and other amenities will be available in a nearby building. We also provide a full board.
