I invite you to participate in the life of my Gite (”Bed and Breakfast’). This one is located in the middle of the forest in the heart of the Eastern Townships. I would really like a hand with all the little daily tasks of the cottage and the house.
Volunteering in Quebec, Canada – requirements & tasks
The Bed and Breakfast is located in the middle of the forest in the heart of the Eastern Townships, but 15 km from downtown Sherbrooke! It is a family business that offers room rentals to customers (5 rooms) as well as homemade lunches.
I would really like a hand with all the little daily tasks of the cottage and the house.
To give you a good idea of the work to be done, here is a typical day that I usually do: In the morning, lunches for clients, so preparation and service, then clearing tables and tidying up. Then, after the departure of the customers, I start cleaning the rooms.
Depending on the number of departures it takes more or less time but in general, I take 1 hour per room. In the afternoon, I can take advantage of the sun to maintain the grounds, the swimming pool, and the spa, bathe, and play with the dog. At the end of the day, I welcome new customers and I prepare the cakes for the next morning.
In fact, I just want someone who can help me on the tasks with which he will feel most comfortable, so if in my day I have 4-5 hours of help on everything to do that would be more than enough. The idea is really to lighten my days a little by participating in the tasks of the house and the gite. Any help will be welcome!
Volunteering in Quebec, Canada – what we offer
You will have a private bedroom with a single bed, complete bedding included.
The rooms for the guests are in another part of the house, so the bathroom will not be used by the guests but only by the inhabitants of the house (me, my son and you!).
There is a washer and dryer available. You will have access to high-speed wifi. You can use the spa and swimming pool as you wish. Outside, the large landscaped lot will allow you to relax in the open air and the house is air-conditioned. A dog and a cat live with us and they love people!
