Try volunteering in Panama – requirements & tasks
I offer the opportunity to experience everyday life in a small town in the mountains of Panama. A very laid-back setting where you can take a break from the fast-paced world and enjoy some peace and quiet surrounded by nature, go on hikes, read, do yoga, and yes, help me out with the projects I’m doing at the time.
The main thing people help me with is with the cooking, so it is important that you love cooking. The cooking is usually only for 2 or 3 people once a day and you are free to cook whatever you like based on the fresh ingredients available at the farmer’s market.
You get your own room/bathroom, and we plan the schedule according to what works best for both. There are always things to do here, such as gardening, small building projects, sanding, painting, road repair, trail maintenance, and even furniture making. No prior experience is required, as long as you are open to learning and trying new things, you will do fine.
The minimum stay is 2 weeks. I enjoy hosting those looking to make meaningful connections when they travel. If you have specific questions about what it is like here, let me know, I’ll be happy to answer any doubts.
It’s also good to know that this place being a mountain town, has lots of hills and therefore being in good physical condition is highly recommended. The property is in a neighbourhood facing the valley and the Baru volcano.
You will work for about 25 hours per week.
