Volunteer in Jordan & experience Bedouin hospitality – requirements & tasks
Hello everyone, I’m Mohammad, a Bedouin living in the beautiful Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. I was born and raised here and currently reside with my family. I’ve been working as a tour guide in Wadi Rum for quite some time, offering you the opportunity to immerse yourself in our culture and lifestyle. I now operate a small camp within the Wadi Rum Desert, which is a protected area known for its breathtaking and picturesque landscape. Our camp provides various activities, including jeep tours, camel rides, hiking, and the option for an overnight stay in the desert.
You can choose to sleep in a tent at the camp with a private bathroom or under the moonlight. Additionally, you can decide whether you prefer to explore Wadi Rum by jeep or on foot. I tailor my tours to accommodate everyone’s pace and preferences since each visitor is unique and has different interests.
The natural beauty of Wadi Rum attracts numerous visitors, and it’s our priority to maintain the area’s natural and unspoiled charm. As the desert is our home, we are dedicated to preserving it. We take great care to keep the desert clean and prevent pollution when tourists visit, ensuring that this magical place remains for future generations.
Currently, we are in search of volunteers to assist us in managing client communications. This involves communicating with our guests in English via email, handling our social media, and providing support with camp maintenance and cleaning.
We wish you a fantastic journey. Thank you!
You will work for about 20 hours per week.
