I’m Kristy – a female entrepreneur who loves the north! A self described hard working bush monkey who wants to share my lifestyle with others. Would you like to help me?
Volunteer off grid in Canada – requirements & tasks
I operate a small off grid accommodations business in remote northern BC. My business has grown and I can’t keep up anymore! I’m looking for someone to help with the day to day chores of cabin maintenance, yard maintenance, wood cutting, snow removal, gardening and cooking.
Volunteers would be doing a wide variety of tasks depending on the time of year. Everything from painting, small construction, cutting firewood, chopping kindling, cleaning brush, making fires, snow shovelling and cleaning cabins. All the day to day activities of maintaining bush cabins. There is always something to build or repair. I can cater to the individual as there is many options.
I have a flower and vegetable gardens that I maintain and use to prepare meals for cabin guests. It would all be hands on life experience that you can’t learn about in a book.
The minimum stay is 5 days. You’d typically work for 4 hours a day, but I am totally flexible on that. It would generally be afternoons.
Volunteer off grid in Canada – what we offer
We are completely off grid so no internet, cell service or electricity. However there is internet available just not on site. The internet is 8 km away. I can provide a vehicle, drive you or I do have 1 bicycle for use.
We have propane appliances, wood stoves, gravity feed water system, outdoor shower and wood fired hot tub in the summer months.
Accommodations can vary depending on the season of your stay. Winter accommodations would be your own cabin. Summer accommodations may be a wall tent or the loft in my cabin. I will supply food. Sometimes I’ll cook and other days I’ll provide food for you to cook.
This would be an amazing experience for adventurous individuals who love the outdoors and want to immerse themselves in bush life. There are endless opportunities of outdoor activities!! Never ending miles of wilderness to hike, ski, snowshoe and fish.
