Share your skills as a volunteer in Peru – requirements & tasks
You are welcome to share your skills and passion with a local community in the Amazon forest in Peru. It is a great opportunity to help the locale and explore this magnificent area in Peru.
You will be doing your volunteer work in Iquitos. This is a Peruvian port city and gateway to the jungle lodges and tribal villages of the northern Amazon.
This is personalized volunteering, meaning you decide together with the program coordinator, what position is best for you and suits your skills. It is a great chance to bring your skills and merits to play. You are welcome to offer new ideas and projects.
The volunteering hours are flexible and are designed for your time and your volunteering program. This leaves you plenty of time to explore the area and combine activities with the volunteering experience.
The community has limited resources, so your impact can be huge.
You can help in many fields:
– Gardening: permaculture, organic, and urban agriculture.
– Social media, marketing, business development, computers, etc.
– If you are a social worker, or psychologist looking for an internship.
– Teaching English, mathematics, and science to kids.
– Teaching arts and crafts, sports, music, etc.
– Women and girls empowerment.
– Any other skill you want to share?
You’ll work for about 15 hours per week, with weekends off.
Share your skills as a volunteer in Peru – what we offer
You will be staying with a local family in the neighbourhood close to the office of the NGO. You will have your bed with a bathroom and kitchen that you will be sharing with the family.
The conditions are basic but the family is very welcoming and it is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the Amazon forest experience.
